|Information:||The periwinkle is a fast growing ground cover plant, whose stems take root when upon touching the ground. Some varieties are evergreen, but others die back to the roots during the winter season.
As the number five is associated with grace, the periwinkle’s five petals remind us of the gift of grace we may receive from the Divine Creator. The blue colouring of those petals remind us of purity and opportunities – “blue sky thinking”.
Modern medicine has identified a number of chemicals which show signs of being able to treat a variety of leukemias, lymphomas and other cancers. Periwinkle also contains a chemical which increases blood flow to the brain and may combat some signs of ageing.
|Meditation:||How easy do we find it to take root in new places and roles? What have I been a recipient of grace in my life, and how can I be more gracious to others?
What opportunities are there for positive things to take root in my life?
How can I facilitate deep, lasting friendships?
